A guide to dangers in the garden by Barkley

Dear humans!

My name is Barkey, and I’ve been nominated as the spokesman umm dog for the dog community. Please pay attention to what I have to say as I discuss just some of the dangers.

Toxic Plants:

First up, let’s talk about the fancy greenery. 🌿 While I understand why you humans want them in the garden as they look nice, I would like to point out that some are sneaky, poisonous villains! Lilies? Pass. Azaleas? No, thank you.

Fertiliser Fiasco:

Please try using a dog-safe fertiliser; some smell amazing to us doggies. However, trust me, it is not a good idea. I have tried some and had a most terrible stomach ache and had to go and see the vet (I don’t like the vet)

!

Slug Pellets

let’s chat about those delightful slug pellets. 🐌 I thought it was a gourmet meal when I caught a whiff of those little round baddies! But then I found out they were not meant for me!

Stagnant water/puddles

When the weather us notice splashing around or even worse, drinking a nice puddle is great fun if we are given the chance

However, puddles also hide surprises, such as creepy crawlies, which can make you ill. At the very least, messing about in stagnant puddles will almost certainly guarantee a bath, so I strongly recommend you stay out of them

! Avoid those surprise baths, and let’s keep our paws dry and free from the icky stuff!

So there you have it, my humans—a bark-tastic guide to the common garden dangers! Be a good human and watch for me while I enjoy the back garden. Now, let’s head inside; I’ve sniffed some amazing treats waiting for us! 🐾🥳

Stay positive, enjoy the garden and keep it safe out there!
