Are you heading off for a holiday and feeling anxious about leaving your kitten? We all know kittens are adorable but require lots of attention—and they’re quite the little mischief-makers when left alone! It’s crucial to arrange pet-sitting visits tailored for your kitten, ensuring she gets ample playtime, cuddles, and supervision.
Kitten Option
This is perfect for sociable kittens who enjoy sleeping in the bed with you.
30-Minute Mid-Day Visit
Your sitter will pop by to check on your kitten. They start with plenty of cuddles and play while ensuring your kitten hasn’t gotten into mischief. Fresh food and water will be provided, toys will be swapped around, and you’ll receive an update to know your little one is doing brilliantly! This visit is a great way to break up their day.
12-Hour Extended Overnight Stay
Your sitter will arrive around 7 pm, ready for an evening filled with cuddles and playtime. These activities typically alternate, and there might even be a few catnaps thrown in! Some kittens revel in an evening routine or enjoy playing when it’s dark. Once your kitten is settled, your sitter will tuck in for the night wherever you and your kitten prefer. If your kitten has a favourite sleeping spot, the sitter will happily accommodate. Come morning, your sitter will follow the routine of feeding, playtime, litter box cleaning, and preparing your kitten for the day ahead.
Kitten Option #2
This schedule is ideal for kittens who love a bit of extra attention.
1-Hour Breakfast Visit
Your sitter arrives in the morning, ready for breakfast and a good play session! Or perhaps your kitten prefers a cosy lap to curl up on. Breakfast will be sorted, the litter box tidied, and fresh water will be provided, followed by more playtime to wear your kitten out! Does your kitten have the morning zoomies? Then, a session with her favourite toys is a must! Your sitter will send you a picture and an update so you can relax knowing your kitten has company. Before leaving, your sitter will ensure your kitten is settled for the day.
1-Hour Dinner Visit
Your sitter will come around dinner time. Your kitten will be eager for more playtime, cuddles, and, of course, dinner! This is also ideal for your sitter to bring in the post or take out the bins. By the end of the visit, your sitter will ensure your kitten is comfy for the evening. Some kittens prefer how their beds are arranged or like a heated blanket turned on.
Kitten Option #3
This schedule suits kittens who enjoy shorter play sessions.
30-Minute Breakfast Visit
Your sitter will arrive in the morning to check on your kitten. She will likely want some playtime and cuddles to kickstart her day! Then your sitter will feed her, tidy the litter box, and send you an update so you know all is well. Three visits a day are ideal for kittens who love short bursts of play followed by a nap.
30-Minute Mid-Day Visit
Mid-day means it’s playtime again! Your kitten will be refreshed from her nap and ready to go! Your sitter can give her cuddles and keep her playing until she’s nicely tired out for the afternoon.
30-Minute Dinner Visit
Your sitter will round off the day with playtime, feeding, water refreshing, and litter box tidying. They’ll have a moment to bring in the post and turn on some lights, giving your home a lived-in look. You’ll receive an update and a cute picture of the day!
Considerations for Kittens
Regarding kittens, we follow specific steps to ensure their safety and happiness.
Kittens on the loose can cause a lot of trouble. We recommend keeping them in a single room when unattended to ensure their safety.
Kittens can make quite a mess of their food, water, and everything else! Your sitter will need access to cleaning supplies for any mishaps.
When scheduling visits, consider when your kitten is most active. Some kittens are perpetual motion machines, while others sleep for most of the day. We aim for our visits to coincide with her natural waking times to maximise fun and supervision.
If you have littermates, they often entertain each other and may not need as much direct attention from a sitter. However, depending on their personalities, they can also cause more mischief.
Ensure plenty of visits are scheduled for lengthy absences. Kittens can feel incredibly lonely; people often mistakenly think they’re more self-sufficient than puppies. While kittens use litter boxes, they need lots of interaction and companionship for their well-being.
